History of our agency ~
After looking at several existing travel agencies that were for sale, it was apparent that more challenges would be created by taking over other people’s problems than by starting out from scratch.
Country Place Travel opened in mid 1985 at Panola Road and I-20 on the east side of metro Atlanta. The focus the first several years centered on the corporate side of travel. Vacation travel was mostly a function of booking vacations for the corporate clients. An occasional group would be booked (many times incentive groups from corporate clients).
As more of our clients began moving either north or east, a decision was made to relocate the office. A relocation meant going east to service those accounts or going north into Gwinnett county to service those accounts. Another decision - open a branch.
In December, 1995, we accomplished an extremely difficult maneuver - we moved the office to a new location in Lawrenceville that is conveniently located and easily accessable for our vacation clients. This location also enabled us to be open for a half day on Saturdays. We also opened a branch in Conyers to be able to quickly deliver airline tickets to our corporate clients in that area.
With the advent of electronic ticketing, we no longer needed to deliver most tickets to our corporate clients, so we were able to consolidate both offices into our Lawrenceville office.
Today our experienced travel experts handle the corporate travel arrangements for dozens of companies in Atlanta and the leisure travel arrangements for thousands of people throughout the USA & Canada thanks to the interet.
Our vacation department is consistently one of the top producers within the ENSEMBLE Network with Princess Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and other top quality vacation suppliers. Our technical systems combined with our knowledge in selling vacations has allowed up to help people as far away as Moscow, Russia with vacation arrangements.
We have developed a “groups” program that handles anything from 6 people to 600 and is rapidly expanding through the use of a group leader’s program. The group leader’s program offers free travel to the person(s) putting the group together provided they get a minimum number of paying members.
The history of Country Place Travel looks extremely good. The only thing that looks better - is our future.
